Good food. Out-of-the-way location. Relatively quiet (except on karaoke night). Friendly staff. Can't ask for much more than that from a local watering hole.

PLEASE READ!!! My boyfriend and I had just moved into the neighborhood around 9/1/2015 and it was late, needed a bite to eat. Although it was a bit smoky for my taste, the atmosphere was very chill. We enjoyed some great food, in particular the pimento mac n cheese. The only reason I gave 2 stars is due to the following: after paying our tab we were approached by who appeared be the Bar Manager. She berated us about not tipping. Now I am not sure what tipping etiquette is at this place but I was taught you place the tip either in the tab folder, a condiment (salt pepper shaker ketchup et cetera) or directly to the waiter. My boyfriend and I were not ready to leave so we hadnt handed it directly to our waitress (who was awesome btw). The "bar manager" (I am assuming) spoke to us aggressively asking if we didnt tip because the service wasnt good. We assured her it was and that we had all intentions of tipping but we werent ready to go and may order something else. She appeared to be inebriated, which is fine because its a bar. However, I do not appreciate being chastised like a child. This was our first time at Corner Tavern and it was very hurtful to be pretty much yelled at because we may not have followed "tip protocal". We will visit again, however if we are approached in this manner ever again there will be ramifications.

Met a friend for a late night drink and snack. It seemed to be your typical dive/local bar with a diverse crowd where everyone was in general high spirits. This night there was poker going on, a few locals at the bar and some pool games happening. A lot going on for a small place, but it worked. The service was a little slow, but I think they were short handed due to the time at night. The server herself did make up for it with her attitude. She was friendly, funny, engaging and attentive. The beer was cold and cheap, while the food was hot and tasty. Bar food done right for sure! I would like to come back and see what this place is like during prime hours, I am sure it would be a cool place to hang with a group while grabbing some beers and munching on some tots. My only gripe is the smoke. It is a little overwhelming when you walk in, but mellows out shortly after...but, still...its noticeable and for someone who doesn't smoke. Overall, I'm a fan and would definitely return.

2.5 STARS: I've been here numerous times, often grabbing a meal or just a drink. It's a very laid-back, relaxed and chill scene. The chicken wings are blue-ribbon; especially the teriyaki flavor. I like to stick with what I know because a few times I tried to experiment and order something that sounded fancy on the menu-only to be dissapointed by bland or uncelebrated tasting food. There are themed nights just like with all the "corner tavern" locations. I have only visited on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening. From my last reference, Sunday is karaoke night. The atmosphere is comprised of low-key adults just looking to enjoy a night out with friends. There are t.v. screens on the current sports game atop pool tables lined through an adjacent area. I don't drink beer but the craft selection is pretty good for beer snobs reading this. I tried the 'Sugardaddy' drink which is vodka, butterscotch schnapps and something else mixed in. It was an experience to try...LOL. The crowd appears 30's and up, mixed and cheery. Service could be a little bit better. It lacks enough to make me not eat here more often. Sometimes the wait staff just seems disconnected, lost or distracted from their work duties. P.S. Heavy smoking inside, there are no designated areas so you may leave with your clothes smelling like an ashtray on a crowded night. P.S.S. Parking is tricky, so make sure you plan ahead and try to get a safe spot or just hop/park MARTA (it's about 75 feet from the train station)

My neighborhood go to bar setting. Good food and drink specials. Highly recommend the club (best in the city) on the roof top patio!

Found this place while waiting for family to arrive at ATL & their flight was delayed. They ended up being delayed enough that we had time to order food. I got a Caesar salad with blackened chicken & it was delicious! He had a burger (I forget which one) but definitely enjoyed it. The tater tots were great too. The restaurant/bar is divey & fun, the drink menu is creative & the food was great. I just wish the service would've been a little quicker. It took so long to get our first round of drinks, I was curious if our order had been forgotten. The food took a while too, upon it being delivered, we immediately ordered more drinks. Unfortunately they didn't come by the time we were done eating, it was time to go & the bartender hadn't even started making them yet. I understand the kitchen can be slower when not busy bc you have to get things up & running, just not sure why the server let the bartender take so long to make the drinks. One round would've easily been 3 rounds had we received prompt service! Will definitely stop in again next time I have an airport run to make though!

Nice place to hang out and shoot pool. Enjoyed myself, went late so not very crowded. Good for a meet and grret or in my case after work drink with friends.

I ordered the jerk chicken quesadilla, and a mug of Founders Porter. They also have pool tables! I had a great experience here. The food was yummy, the service was nice. Will be back! :)

Love this place!! My boyfriend and I have been coming here for about 10 years or so now and we still love it. Karaoke night is entertaining and the music is good to listen to while talking and eating. Pros: It's a good atmosphere and place to gather for good food and drinks during the week or on the weekend. They have games, a outdoor patio and pool tables! FUN! We always order the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with Bleu cheese- we sub ranch- and get fries and onion rings as the sides. Freaking Delicioso! Cons: The prices went up and they now charge $2.00 extra for onion rings and limit the selection of sides for platters. If you choose something that's not under the list then you pay 2.00 more. Bummer! Anywho, it's good enough that I pay anyway. Also, they allow indoor smoking so....If you hate cigarette smoke then this IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! ! Pool tables, good food, good music, game nights and cigarette smoke! But again it's worth it! Enjoy!

I found this place when searching for restaurants near the airport, since we were grabbing a quick meal with my dad on a layover. I definitely judged a book by its cover here - it was more of a bar that serves food than a restaurant and I complained to my husband that it smelled like smoke as we sat down. But the food turned out to be decent - I had some delicious tacos which were the special of the day, and he got a truffle burger with house made potato chips. My dad got a club sandwich, which turned out to be more of a hoagie/sub, so that was a little disappointing, and our buffalo wing appetizers were also a little weak, but as long as you're not setting your expectations too high this place is just fine for a quick bite to eat.

Would like to give 2.5 stars. I LOVE a good dive, but in a nearly empty bar it took more than an hour to get our food. I got a salad which was supposed to have blue cheese, but if it was there I certainly couldn't taste it - and if there's blue cheese, it's pretty rare you can't taste it. The food was pretty good but not great, and the service was just awful. Also smoking was allowed in the bar, which I guess is a positive for some people but certainly not for me.

This is an excellent place to hang out, play some pool, get some food, watch the eclectic clientele and listen to some very diverse music. I have yet to have a bad meal in this place and they have a good beer selection as well. Definitely one of my favorite after hours places near the airport. I highly recommend trying this out!

If you read my last review, then you know how paramount loyalty is to me. And with me, loyalty invariably involves quid pro quo. I was first introduced to Corner Tavern at the 2013 Battle of the Burgers charity event. There's an aphorism that stresses that individuals won't remember what you say or do for them, but they will remember how you make them FEEL. That's certainly true because I don't remember which burger received my vote, but I do remember that Corner Tavern was the most generous with their freebies. My friend and I were so impressed by the free stuff coming from Corner Tavern's booth that we both vowed to patronize Corner Tavern before the 2014 Battle of the Burgers. And, considering that said event is tomorrow, we procrastinated like champs! The East Point Corner Tavern is a 2nd story bar that is really inconspicuous, the kind of place that you could drive past every day and never notice unless you were specifically looking for it. It has all the trappings that you expect of a bar: a couple of dart boards, at least 4 billiard tables, TVs set to sports channels, a jukebox (that happens to resemble an iPhone, complete with giant touch screen), nightly specials, trivia & karaoke nights, heavy cigarette smoke, and people who've made questionable life decisions. One thing that Corner Tavern has that isn't typical of bars is surprisingly good food. I ordered the Southwestern Chicken Pasta, which is delicious; it's quite generous regarding portion size, and the chicken has just the right amount of char. I also had the pleasure of eating some of the Home Fry Platter. Pro Tip: order the Home Fry Platter. According to their menu, these fries are house cut, never frozen, and this yields excellent results. These fries are exquisitely seasoned and come with 2 (out of 10) dipping sauces of your choice plus a 3rd mystery sauce. The Home Fry Platter is $6, but considering the quantity AND quality, that is a fair asking price. And you just know that Corner Tavern is confident in their fries to serve an entire tray of them. As a straight edge guy, meaning that I don't smoke or drink or do any drugs be they prescription or illicit, I always feel out of place while in bars. For example, when my party was seated, our server immediately brought cups of water and a large Jack Daniels bottle that functioned as our water pitcher. Lemme tell ya, it felt so alien to hold and pour that bottle given that I don't partake of "the Devil's water." All that aside, I can see myself returning to Corner Tavern. It has good food & possibly the best fries that I've ever eaten, a somewhat arcane location giving it an almost exclusive feel, and the $20 food voucher that my party won as a 2nd place trivia prize almost guarantees a return visit from this quid pro quo advocate.

This place would get five stars if it weren't for the smoking policy. Nothing against smokers but the ventilation system there leaves you smelling like an ashtray. Otherwise the food is awesome and drinks are liberal !

Food is pretty good (mostly bar type food), definitely good burgers and, believe it or not, their salads are great. 3 stars out of 5 because I have been there a few times when the service has been extremely slow and if you sit inside, the place does have a smokey smell to it that tends to stay on you for a few hours after you leave.

I really want to like this bar and I keep giving it a second, third, and even fourth chance. After consistently failing to meet my low standards for a neighborhood bar, I am officially giving up. The biggest problem with this bar is service. I don't know if the gm doesn't staff properly or if the servers are just lazy, but every time I have gone to this bar service has been an issue. The other big issue is that the place looks unsanitary. A cockroach fell on my friend while we were there. The last time I was there I also noticed their sanitation rating was 86.

I ordered the Salmon BLT and asked for extra lemon aioli, but instead received extra MAYO. Well that wasn't listed on the menu. My fries and bread were brunt beyond recognition. Ewww... I guess I'll drive to the one on Edgewood from now on...that was a wrap for me.

We went with a party of 18 people on a Saturday night and had a wonderful experience. Good beer, GREAT food, pool tables, darts, and plenty of TVs for sports. If you have the chance, request Christy as a server, she's amazing!!!

When morning for brunch, have been there many times in the past. The food was good the service was good and the bill was fair. today went to East Point tavern for brunch with some friends as a sort of going away lunch. the food took forever to come and we were the only ones in the place. the service was absolutely terrible they gave us orange juice with ice filled up in the class to give us less product. our friends mimosas however had no ice in them. complain about the ice problem she said she would bring us more orange juice but you have to charge us. I am fine with being charged , the waitress brought out a couple glasses of orange juice for me and my fiance n they were a little over half full to compensate for the ice that they didn't put in the glass. this is Pollen restaurant boy to give the customer less product it was blatant on the second glass altogether we're more than the entree. the food was mediocre at best the over easy eggs were almost hard-boiled they were so hard. I tried the soy sausage which was terrible. The home fries were good and the chorizo sausage was pretty good and the maple bacon wings excellent. didn't know the menu didn't know who ordered meals from the menu totally confused. because we were a party of five or more the gratuity was already added to the bill which was her only saving grace. I would not recommend going to East Point tavern you want to go out with friends but if you want to go there to get a good meal go somewhere else. The meal was terrible and the service and the attitude with the service was terrible. I suggested that the manager check in to the Waffle House business plan at least you could get a glass of orange juice and not take out a loan.

EPCT used to be my all time favorite but lately it's just ehhhh..... The food is still good but the service has gone down since my favorite waitress moved on. The crowd can be rowdy on Saturdays due to Karaoke but this past Saturday 10/05/2013 was exceptionally rowdy. Patrons running around drunk and screaming. Reminded me of an old school dive. All in all I'll still patronize EPCT, they've got the best Fried Artichokes in GA and the specialty drinks aren't bad either.

Friday night all you can eat crab legs. If you love seafood and want some legs come here. Seriously all you eat. Plate after plate after plate. Add drinks and its seriously a match made in heaven. I don't know anything else tastes but the crab legs are extremely good. They don't run out either. All you can eat crab legs people.

First time here and only had drinks, but my colleague and I really enjoyed it. We came here after one the bars near our hotel wouldn't serve us in their patio area and we weren't willing to sit inside their smoky place--losers. Though Corner Tavern also allows smoking inside, they were happy to accommodate us on their awesome deck. All the employees were friendly and our server, Will, was great. As soon as we told him it was our first visit, he told us all about the CT's specials ($11 bottomless mimosas on Saturdays & Sundays!) and invited us back. Oh, we will be... Especially to take advantage of that mimosa deal!

Service was some of the worst I've experienced in a long time. All tables around us seated after us were well served and got their food way before us. We were only a party of 6. The food was bad. Greasy, cold, and some of the food came out wrong. Waiter just would not/kept forgetting simple stuff like a water refill. The manager came out and said "what's going on out here?" On top of the whole ordeal, the manager rang all of our tickets up wrong. Then took aprox. 15 minutes to re-ring them. THEN!!!!! They added auto gratuity!!!! I had 4 extra dollars added onto my total which I could not and the manager would not take off. As an out of towner, I almost walked out without paying.

Had the veggie philly again and it was good. No complano on food but they did mess up a long island with flat soda, then when we talked to the bartender about the drink sucking and wanting it pulled off the tab WHEN IT HADN'T BEEN DRUNK. I think I'm going to stop messing with East Point because something is wrong with the customer service in that area.

I love this place!! Its too bad I found it as I am no longer visiting ATL after 5 years. Ashton was our server and she was great. Pretty too! Food: We ordered the nachos with brisket. I could have used more gouda and less sour cream. Also more brisket. Otherwise very tasty. My buddy and i both ordered the cornbread stuffed chicken, WOW! super good, thick gravy that had a nice flavor. Chicken cooked perfectly. Drinks: WOW great whisky and ginger beer with limes. Nice!! my buddy had the Moscow Mule. We had a scoutmob so that brought the cost down to below $50 per both us. Pretty good.

I am a fan of this Corner Tavern location. I have been coming here for years but took time away from the area for like 3 years! Now I cant get enough of this venue's entertainment, food, and cocktails! The patio is really nice but.... at dusk and night, it's too dark. Well here's what I'm a fan of: the fried boneless chicken that they use in their different like the weekend brunch. I enjoy the regulation size billiards tables and the fact that the tables are well kept and so are the pool cues. My favorite dish: The Corner Nachos (with black beans and ground beef) because the "small" portion is enough for 2 people to nibble on and the "large" is definitely made for someone who has not ate in a whole day or so. It's huge and full of chips, lettuces, meat, beans, and everything else. I have not tried the All You Can Eat Crab legs on Fridays but they smell and look great! I think that the Bartenders are pretty cool and know their drinks. However, I do like for my bartender to make my drinks right in front of me on the bar mat. That's what its there for! The Friday night adult trivia is really cool and keeps you interacting with your bar/tablemates plus the music options before/after trivia come from the customers selecting songs from an all new digital (by phone too) jukebox! I love this! Parking is good too! There are options including parking at the neighboring health care facility after hours. Overall, I like this place.

This place was solid. There was some serious karaoke going on the night I frequented this establishment. If that is your thing, you will absolutely love this place. If you are looking for a quieter place where you can have conversations, maybe not so much. They also had a good beer selection, and the food was good, though standard.

Coming from out of town and looking for Karaoke and food you never know what you are going to get. I was a little hesitant with a place called The Corner Tavern, but when it comes to karaoke I will overlook certain things. Having said that, I was so pleased to find this place. The food is crazy good and the prices are very reasonable. It is truly a 'corner tavern' in every sense and it is even up stairs above other local establishments. If you are looking for great food, very chill environment, great karaoke then consider East Point Corner Tavern. It will not disappoint.

After quite the interesting Dragon*con people watching experience downtown we took the cab over to East Point Corner Tavern. Why? Two reasons: not too far from our hotel and karaoke on Saturday night. We got there pretty early and the place was stone cold dead. Two people at the bar, a couple of tables occupied. They have a lot of space in here with a large, long bar, dart boards, tables and booths situated around the bar area, and pool tables on the other side of the wall. Plus TVs on all the football games. We sat at the corner of the bar because that's the best place to sit and ordered some drinks. Our bartender lady was awesome - she got us beer without really having to ask. Plus she hung out and chatted with us during some of the down time. We felt like locals in no time. And believe me, this place is full of neighborhood locals and everyone knows everyone. Such a fun atmosphere when everyone seems to know and be glad to see everyone else. As one lovely lady I met told me - we are family here! I was just glad to be a part of it for the evening. Karaoke guy had a solid set up and every song you could imagine. The night started slow with only a few singers so my friend and I were up every 5 minutes. But soon the place filled in and became packed. Don't worry about your singing skills either - some people were awesome but others were just having fun. Don't worry, everyone loved everyone's singing regardless of skill. Only problem here was snagging a cab home. It took absolutely forever to get a cab there but shout out to the bartenders and also some of the patrons for continuing to call the cabs and get one out there. And thanks again to the bartenders for letting us hang out until they got there! This place is the local that I woud go to every weekend if it were in my town.

If the Corner Tavern were a person, I would scream at them. Why? I have been a loyal customer for many, many years despite its seeming decline and I cannot for the life of me understand why some improvements haven't been made. For the first few years, I gave this place 90% of my monthly food budget. It was terrific - great food, full bar, pool tables, etc. Oh how the mighty have fallen. There was a period of time, a few years ago, when the waitstaff was horrid (total JERK of a bartender as well). Now, they are on top of things and VERY nice. The menu has had some positive changes over the years but the food has become too inconsistent. On my last visit, my dinner companion bit into a piece of not-so-fresh salmon that had to be sent back (ew.). The sides were a combination of under and over cooked, the lettuce wilted and a few pieces were slimy. Yes, those fried artichokes are FAB, but that can't be the only draw. There have been many other instances of poor dishes coming out of the kitchen. Now on to the space, itself. *heavy sigh* The back staircase makes me nauseous. It stinks to high-heavens (think vomit and rotten milk), it needs to be repainted and with a deep cleaning of the hand rails and floors. It's so gross - unfortunate that it's one of the main entrances to the restaurant. Inside the restaurant, it smells like the inside of a smokers lung. I mean IT'S BAD, folks. If you have any sensitivity to cigarette smoke, keep on driving past the Tavern. (Even in the summer all of the smokers take over the patio). It's clear that the Tavern is catering only to the smoking crowd. For these reasons, I'll have to find a new home-away-from-home in East Point. This ain't it anymore. Sorry, Mike. :(

Terrific service. Jeremiah felt like our pal at the end of the night. Glad i checked yelp reviews ahead of time because the artichoke was as good as advertised, if not better. I would not have bothered to try it were not for yelp! I had 2 different kind of tacos, i thought they were alright, nothing special. My girlfriend had the burger which was pretty darn good, but undercooked. When we asked for it to be put back on the grill for a few more, the Staff sent us a whole another one! We thought that was very cool of them. Definitely a dive-y feel, which i love, but it was pretty smokey. Overall would definitely go back.

A co-worker of mine convinced me to check out EP Corner Tavern today. Fridays after 6 is all-you-can-eat crab legs. Myself and another person arrived an hour early so we ordered appetizers, the buffalo shrimp and the chipotle barbeque wings. The buffalo shrimp was a bit expensive ($9) for about 6-8 shrimp they were very tasty but the price sheesh. The wings were not bad. My party sat around for six o'clock to come to get the AYCE crab legs. I wasn't expecting much because many AYCE places with crab legs are small and overcooked. Not the case. The crab legs are served to the table 2-3 clusters at a time. The clusters are large but the best part they were cooked just right and the seasoning was on point. AYCE cost about $19 and a 4% gratuity is added to it. That's a surprise but I can see why because servers have to continously bring crab legs to the table. You also add potatoes and corn for an additional $3. Our server was great. Atmosphere, its a bar a descent size with a full bar and about 4-5 pool tables on the opposite size. I can't handle cigarette smoke but I know its a bar so I manage by coming in early and leave before the smokers come in. I will return.

Having had a great experience at the L5P Corner Tavern, we thought to go to this location for lunch. The food was good, the company & conversation outstanding, but I won't look forward to going back. Why? The place smelled like an ashtray and there wasn't a smoker in sight. Whatever one's feelings on the whole smoking thing, if there's not a smoker in sight, the place shouldn't send me into asthmatic paroxysms.

Ok, I've been back here a few too many times already. Wow. Can't really go out again this month... The fried artichoke hearts: Um, yes. Um, yum. And what remains from the massive serving reheats quite well in an oven. The burgers, wraps, and other things are quite good, too. But the fried artichoke hearts far and away take the (extra-sweet after artichokes) cake. Music: Still haven't made the Sunday music. I will. Soon. Otherwise, the background music suits me. And the karaoke... Let's just say that people who run karaoke nights elsewhere come here to perform. And then there's Heather. I didn't realize she's a hard-core musician ( heatherluttrell.com ), but I should have known given her impromptu performances. (David: Not sure you should come here. Two local celebs in the same place might cause an explosion of awesome.) Booze: Yes. 'Nuff said, but not 'nuff drank. And great barkeeps. Neighborhood: This is a great local watering hole. I'm not exactly social, and still I've met a few people so far. Good stuff.

My first time back in about 4 or 5 years. Beer and atmosphere is still good but the food was a joke. Almost $10 for a club sandwich that looked like it came from Kroger's with burned and luke warm onion rings. It took a very long time to get our order, problably due to drive time on picking up that sandwich. You guys used to be great... not sure what happened...

My sister and I went here for the first time last night because they had Karaoke on Saturdays at 9 pm. Well the place itself is small, cute, and when you walk in you have to go up two flight of stairs. The karaoke part was your typical karaoke so we had fun doing that. The place inside is okay, but the drinks are pricey and watery. The food we could not even eat it...bad...my sister had a BLT how you messed that up...I tried the Beer Brisket entree too salty just Nasty really...even had a tequila shot and it was whack too...they do have pool tables and a dart board. My sister treated and paid $44 for food and drinks and even tipped. We will not be returning or if we do for Karaoke we will make sure we eat and drink first. Overall good place to shoot pool and Karaoke.

A neighborhood bar serving the East Point, College Park, Hapeville, etc. communities. Close to where I live and highly recommended. The kitchen produces a very solid, sometimes superior array of appetizers, burgers, and daily lunch and dinner specials. These folks actually introduced me to some tasty adult beverages (namely red stag and an anonymous super-premium rum). Further, the bartenders were willing to help me perfect my trademark Old Fashioned (made with Woodford Reserve bourbon). Yeah! Update: Due to the onerous service charges that I am starting to see being enforced by the kitchen manager (take out fees for packaging and extra charges for condiments); I have to retract one star from this fine establishment's rating. Hopefully the ownership will realize that these types of extra fees are a major annoyance to good customers that should be eliminated!

Install air filters so the non-smokers can breath and you've got yourself a winner. The smoking and lack of air circulation keep me from going here on cold days and as often during the warm weather months. The outdoor patio is where I have to sit b/c of how smokey it is inside. Food is consistent but has worsened over the years. Add more lettuce to salads, add one more taco for a total of three to the taco entree, and lower your beer prices. Service is okay, don't be a rush when going and you'll have an enjoyable time.

Pros: Buffalo Chicken sandwich is awesome, Blackened Chicken sandwich is also really good IF you tell them to be easy on the blackening seasoning... otherwise it'll be entirely too salty. Pretty good tapas plate. Great tap beer selection. The staffing is top notch and very accommodating! Cons: Smoking inside! Hate leaving an eating establishment reaking of cigarette smoke. Weird sides too. Not a fan of the fries. The main reason we go there is because of the 52% off coupons from Halfoffdepot.com

This place could be really great if you're a smoker. The first thing I noticed walking in was the pungent smell of cigarettes hitting you in the face and mind you it was a slow Monday evening. The bar staff wasn't bad, but I think they were a little preoccupied. As far as the food is concerned, well they did a great job. I ordered the Black and Blue Burger with fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful as were the fries (the fries do need some salt and pepper table side). The beer selection is pretty fantastic , lots of great micro's on draft. I would love to come back one day if in the area but will probably wait until Georgia passes an indoor clean air act.

EPCT is the neighborhood hang out in my opinion. Always met with a polite smile and hello from the servers and the bartenders. I regularly frequent the restaurant for lunch or dinner, and honestly I am rarely if ever disappointed. Though, there are times that their chips are stale, the food overall is wonderful. I tend to eat outside, because the inside area is smokey in the evenings, and smells like smoke during the day. That is the only downside to the place...but it is a tavern, and I get that. They are also very supportive of our neighborhood, Jefferson Park... and for that I am so grateful. My favorite menu item are the burgers...I usually opt for the bleu cheese or pimento cheese burger with almond green beans on the side...YUMMMMMY. Brunch is great too!

The service was terrible. If the waiter had been more aloof I would have called him Jessica Simpson! The blackened chicken sandwich was amazing. The stuffed chicken and Mac n cheese were NOT!!! I guess that's my bad for ordering fancy food at a bar! NEVER going back. The reviews were quite misleading.

First, let me start by asking: WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SMELL? I was really put off by the stairwell leading into the place and even more so by the smell. I went for lunch on a weekday and the menu was very limited. I believe I wanted to try the steak tacos and was told they weren't serving that during lunch hours or something -- there was no lunch vs. dinner menu. Bottom line: I won't be back. Not impressed at all. I sure this is more of a nighttime bar scene anyway...

A friend and I go here on Saturday nights for karaoke. Huey is an excellent karaoke host, and the cheese dip is like wo. Bar/wait staff are friendly and fun, and you'll make some new pals if you are brave enough to get up and sing. I'd spring for that 5th star, but I really hate smelling like an ashtray. Sorry, EPCT. Other than that, you are quickly becoming my new Saturday night hang out!

Can't believe I never reviewed the Corner Tavern. This is a great place on my walking path to the East Point MARTA Station. Thats not the only reason I go but it is a nice place to start and finish a drinking adventure from. Great lunch specials and an overall decent menu make it a great place to eat anytime. Add in a nice variety of taps, they tend to favor Atlanta's local breweries and you have a great place. Some trivia and karaoke complete the neighborhood bar experience. I'm a happy camper to have a quality pub like the Corner Tavern close by.

There was a very diverse group of ppl. The karaoke was great. The food was horrible over price. The fresh cut fries were grease. Serve was decent. Drinks were watered down. Last but not least... I hate going to a place where my hair/wig (lol) smell like cigarette smoke gross!! Never again.

A bar that knows what gluten free is. I'm so glad that places like the EPCT exist. Good atmosphere, good food, good drinks, and good wait staff. Gluten free beer + good beer on tap + fried artichokes + good salads + hard cider + yummy burgers = wth, how could I have forgotten about this place for so long!! Honestly, I know this review is short compared to my normal long windedness but this place sells itself. If you go and you're disappointed, you're too hard to please anyways.

The East Point Corner Tavern is another little gem way outside the Buckhead orbit. This place combines a cool, laid back, counter culture vibe with great food, quality service, and an ample selection of refreshing beverages. The hamburgers here are excellent. I had a cheeseburger with Jalapeno Jack cheese and Jalapenos on top, cooked "medium." It arrived as, "medium," not rare, not well, just right. The beef is flavorful. I am not sure what they are using, but that full, beefy flavour was present in force. The french fries, a category of food which I normally avoid, are just too good to pass up. Make an exception and try the fries. You'll be glad you did. It's divey enough that you can relax, show off you tatoos (if you have them) and smoke in the evenings (they sell cigs at the bar), but it has the kind of food and service that makes it worth a visit at lunchtime on a workday.

My husband had been talking about EPCT for quite a while before I was finally able to get there...but when I did, I fell in love! What a great place. Super relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, fantastic and friendly service, a good menu, varied entertainment and though I'm not a drinker, it looks like it's a good bar. The bartenders are certainly nifty! Regarding the menu, the fried artichokes are *amazing*. My mouth waters just thinking about them! I also usually get a spinach and goat cheese wrap-type thing that I adore. I'm not a vegetarian, but I will pass up the best burger in the world so I can have that wrap! For those who think East Point is scary, you just need to spend a little more time around here. This is a fantastic community, with fantastic diversity and general awesomeness as exemplified by the East Point Corner Tavern.

Eh, I did not think this place is worth all the hype. Came here for lunch and while the table we sat on was kind of cool and service was fine, I just didn't think the food was all that great. The fish sliders were not fresh and the spinach and goat cheese wrap my co-worker had left much to be desired. Of course if you are looking for a simple burger I think it will be fine. However, I think they should expand their menu to have some additional fresher options for those of us who don't want to eat burgers. Also, back entrance/exit = a little sketchy without the light on.

  • Michael S.

The good: food is really good. I had the collard green dip as an appetizer and it was great. Entree was a burger and it was well prepared and left me quite satisfied. The service was not that great, but maybe because I was sitting at the bar and that's not the bartender's main gig.

This is such a cool spot. The diversity of all of the people who go there and work there is one thing that really makes it so much fun. And the FOOD! Wow. The tavern burger is phenomenal. Great drink specials and all around friendly staff. I highly recommend it and now I really want to visit all of the other Corner Taverns.

Good food, good people serving it in a comfortable relaxed place. They also have a good selection of beers on tap. The prices are reasonable and the Turkey Sandwich (formerly the T-Bird) is worth the trip by itself. The Fry Plate is a highlight as well. Dart boards and pool tables are available to those who want them. They also offer a Trivia Night, Pool League and Dart League.

Had a wonderful time here this past Saturday! Nice People seems like eveyone knows each other, they even passed around a birthday card for the DJ, who had an extensive karaoke selection which I enjoyed. Food's a bit pricey but the Thai Chilli wings are AMAZINGLY GOOD (they had a special Cinco De Mayo drink with 1800 coconut tequila and Pineapple Juice as nothing short of awesome). I had a blast ripping the Mic with the Karaoke didn't get a chance to hit the pool tables but will do next. In all this was a great place and looking forward to going again!

Great place, great food, great service. Not scary!!! Main Street East Point is fine. Jefferson Park is great! Don't get me wrong... there are bad parts of East Point... but there are bad parts everywhere in Atlanta and surrounding areas. Don't be shy! Just come and enjoy!

I'm giving props to our waitress. We had an unexpected table of 20, I think, on the back patio on a Wednesday night. And she warned us ahead of time to not switch or move seats. We obeyed. And she was exceptional. Friendly, fast, to-the-point, and thoughtful. I'd go back for the service alone. However, the food was decent. My BF and I split the hummus platter and chips and cheese dip. The burgers that everyone else was getting looked mighty appetizing though. Perhaps next time, as I'm sure there will be one.

Ok... So I have 2 stories about this place. 1. I went on Karaoke night with my mom and her boyfriend. We ordered wings, but they were out of wings. Fine. So, the waitress recommended the nachos, so we got them. The nachos came. They were quite dry. Full of toppings, but they were incredibly selfish with the cheese for whatever reason. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the waitress, and she didn't really have a solution for us. Whatever... about an hour later the table next to us was getting their food... guess what was on their plates.... YES!!!! WINGS!!!! *gasp* So, we asked the server why she didn't tell us that wings had magically appeared in the establishment. "Oh, I forgot" was her response... or something along those lines. And not only did she forget to tell us about these magical wings, she didn't offer us any, nor did she vouch for us with the manager. So fine... it was pretty disappointing, but it wasn't the end of the world. So theeeeen... my mom went up to tip the Karaoke Master before we left. She said he flinched when she was handing him the money, and gave a very lackluster "Oh, thank you" when he saw that it was cash. Then about 3 minutes later he came over to our table to apologize for reacting like that; he thought she was gonna burn him with a cigarette. WHAT?! Ok Mr. Karaoke Man. That was months ago. So I decided I'd give them another chance today.... 2. there were 2 bartenders when I sat down... one (the one who ended up helping me) was busy at the register. The other who I will call "Ms. Afro Puff" was smoking a cigarette and socializing with customers. So, I ordered the Braised brisket with new potatoes and yeast roll from the busy bartender when she was done at the register. She was nice enough. Professional and polite. A few minutes later she comes to tell me that they are out of new potatoes and offers the garlic mashed potatoes in place of them. This was perfectly fine with me. So then my bartender got busy at the register again, and Ms. Afro Puff seemed to be doing a lot of nothing, so my bartender asked her to check if my mashed potatoes were ready. They were, So Ms. Afro Puff brought my order over and put on her best and FAKEST polite smile before she glanced over at my check and asked "Oh, did you order a side of mashed potatoes?" (Obviously this wasn't noted on the check because it was subbed for new potatoes.) I explained the situation to her. So then, still with the fake smile she says, "Well let me just check" and proceeds to open up my to-go container to make sure I hadn't somehow walked my a** in the kitchen and stolen some new potatoes. Then when my original server came over and asked "What's up?" Ms. Afro Puff just says "Oh it smells so good.... blah blah blah." Soooo... yes thanks to you Ms. Afro Puff (you know who you are), I'm never going back to East Point Corner Tavern. Btw... the brisket was amazing. :-(

First of all, I think its kinda funny some reviewers think downtown East Point is scary. I dunno why it just makes me chuckle. So onto Corner Tavern. I love this place! The drinks are affordable, the serving staff is welcoming and take good care of their patrons. The food is better than a lot of bars. The buffalo shrimp is succulent and I could drink their buffalo sauce which they make homemade by the way. As everyone else has mentioned, the fried artichokes are delish and definitely worth the trip. I've also enjoyed the French Dip which was pretty darn good. They have all kinds of entertainment available in the form of darts, pool and games you can play at your table like Jenga (or some kind of rip off of Jenga). I always love having the option to play if I want to. I've gone to Corner Tavern looking cute and I've gone whilst taking a break from rebuilding my porch wearing overalls and looking disgusting and no matter what the servers were amazingly welcoming. There is absolutely no attitude here. All are welcome, the more the merrier! Stop in, enjoy a few drinks and take care of your waitstaff cuz they rock!

I was a little sketched out to go here initially. Downtown is already a little scary sometimes, but going to East Point?!? Oh whatever, my Trivia itch overcame and we decided to go here for trivia. We were pleasantly surprised, that is for sure. The food is diverse and, while it is primarily bar food, I will say that have some healthier food, mixed in with some things you really have never heard of or tried before, like the fried artichokes. Being that most bar food is pretty mediocre, this food was pretty good. The setup of the restaurant is cool too... They have darts as well as like 4 pool tables. It appears they have drink specials on a continual basis as well which I like, being a cheapie (who wants to pay $6 for a beer, ya know?!?). And, my BF and I got third place in trivia both times we went, which translated into 2 $10 gift certificates. So, we will be back. Oh yes, they also have "XXX Rated (or Adult) Trivia," which I have yet to play, but it does sound cool. To conclude, if you are a trivia fan or if you live close-by, give this place a chance and I think you will enjoy, just like I did.

I LOVE this place... could deal without the smoke at times, but it's a tavern... it is what it is. Close your eyes, wave your hand with your index finger out... and land on something on the menu. You will love everything they make.

This place is really cool. Great little hole in the wall. If you're straight, you won't have much luck picking up the opposite sex. But the food is good, the drinks are great, and reasonably priced. The locals make you feel welcome and its a lot of fun. Always good music and entertainment.

Corner tavern makes my heart melt. I recently moved back in with the moms in east point and was a little apprehensive about the night life. I really had no clue what to expect. I was more than thrilled to find out there was a corner tavern east point. Thank god!!!!! The food is awesome!! The table service is great!! I have had 2 encounters sitting with Jed and he rocks my socks off. By far, one of the best servers I have ever have ever had! And that means alot coming from a server herself. I had the priviledge of sitting with Stevie today, she is awesome. Maybe its the high off the recent lucky events of my life, but she rocked. I would recommened hands down to any east point resident.

In the area for business, have made this a weekly stop! I think they may serve one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. The staff is super friendly and the ambiance of the place is great. Heads up, smoking is allowed so don't be surprised.

Three words: Fried. Artichoke. Hearts. Whenever my parents come to town they usually want to go here and eat on the patio. We get two orders of fried artichoke hearts for four people and we eat them all. They are just that good! Now don't let the fact that I said my parents love to come to the Corner Tavern scare you off. My parents are drinkers and love good fatty foods. There are some many good things to eat here as long as you keep in mind you are gonna be eating bar food. But occasionally they will slip in a daily special that is light and flavorful. Always ask the server about the daily special as they most likely had it that day for lunch and will probably give you an honest opinion on whether to get it or not. My favorites here include the Diablo Burger (which is burger served with salsa, chili sauce and cheese) and the Reuben. The beer list is a decent size and changes every once in a while with new draft items. THE BOTTOM LINE -- The place is great for an afternoon lunch on the patio or a late night dinner on the weekend.

$2.50 for a 16oz PBR. AMAZING buffalo chicken sandwich.. just ask for it grilled.. and you are in business.. I didn't like the fries, they were soggy and kinda home made looking. The tomato basil soup was perfect.. so.. i was quite happy with dinner. Waitstaff great Clean bathrooms.. Stairs offer a little workout pre and post meal.. there was Trivia there on Fri night.. I didn't venture out of my booth area other than to go to the bathrooom, but my side of the bar was nice.

Finally went here after thoroughly wearing out the other two locations, and I'm glad I did. I had lunch yesterday with my lady and I remembered it's close to her work, so we should try it. It's kinda hard to find, not like the other two which are well advertised, this one has a sign on the building facing the street but since the entire restaurant in upstairs, it's on the top level of the building's face, right in downtown, so you have to look for it. Parking is tight but we managed to find one space behind the building and squeezed in. Going through the back it's a little room with a staircase, go up to a door and walk right in. It's very familiar if you've been to either of the other locations, booths and tables set up to accommodate the most people without being tight, dartboards, pool tables, and a good sized bar. We sat at the bar as all the booths were full, they have the same menu as the other ones but their beer lists, both draft and bottle, are a bit different, smaller in quantity but plenty of good choices. I had a beer while she got water, and we ordered usual fair (burger and garlic mash for me, tilapia salad for her) and it was just as good as the other two Taverns, cooked right, well seasoned, generous proportions, etc. I also had a bowl of chicken noodle soup that was amazingly good. Wow. Service was excellent, friendly, and quick and we were out in just at an hour, even though I drank a second beer leisurely. So now that I know where it is, I have a third Tavern to indulge me, and that makes me quite happy.

This localtion is the original, baby. Affordable, good food, funky-friendly staff, great patio, and a killer beer selection make the EP Corner Tavern our favorite local bar & grill. Their activities (karaoke, pool, darts, Texas Hold 'Em, trivia) make going there even more of an adventure. Great place to meet or make friends. ...You wanna go where everybody knows your name..... Try the onion rings with a steamed deli sandwich. They have the BEST buffalo shrimp EVER.

This a nice spot to chill have some drinks. I love shooting pool so this is a good place for that. Laid back envioment fun for group of friends. This place had darts, board games lol. Love the pool tables official size. Good to have lowkey spot outside of the city. Food just had nachos there ok. I think I might gotten stiffed on drinks tho shots were way to high, for a pub.

Used my Groupon for takeout tonight. I'm from out-of-town & got lost on the way, but the beautiful redhead with the sweet tattoos who answered the phone & got my order (wish I remembered her name) was so helpful! The place looks cozy & fun, staff was really nice, and the food was great. And yes, get the fried artichoke hearts! Yummy!

We went here yesterday after my plane out of Atlanta got delayed for several hours. We decided to drive around College Park and check it out but apparently started with the wrong part of College Park - so we were a little disappointed with the area. This changed as soon as I found this place (while yelp-ing from my cell phone) and we headed over. They have good beer on tap, delicious sweet tea, and the food was good (we had a chicken cheese and bacon sandwich with collard greens and sweet potatoes - the sweet potatoes were particularly good). We played a few games of pool and then moved to the outside deck and enjoyed the ceiling fans and the view. We liked the laid-back clientele and the overall laid-back feel of the place.

Tried this place for lunch. Very strong smell of smoke even during day when no one was actually smoking. Other than that, neat place where you feel you could hang out for a while. The food was actually very good. The grilled pimento cheese patty melt I had was really good. Recommend for lunch.

The East Point extension of the same bar/restaurant venue right in the heart of Little Five Points. This branch offers the exact same menu as its sister---tasteful bar food, from salads to well-made sandwiches and pasta dishes. I actually liked the East Point version better than the L5P as the ambiance seemed more chill and open. It was on the second floor of the building, and for some reason I always like coming upstairs to eat (perhaps tricking myself into believing I'm working up an appetite?). I had the reuben which was immaculate, and more refined in taste than most other reubens I've had. The steak sandwich ordered by a friend received high reviews as well. I was surprised to find the coffee here was actually tasty: a rarity for a bar. East Point seems to be another up and coming area, perhaps the Cabbagetown of 5 years from now. EPCT is a nice addition to an area worth exploring.

Fried artichoke hearts = amazing. Onion rings = delicious! Drinks = reasonably priced (make sure you get a glass with your PBR, the can smells like an ashtray; which is the caveat of being in a bar) Overall, I really liked the feel and atmosphere of this place. It has a cute outdoor patio, and the main bar is pretty spacious and very nice. There is place to play darts, a large bar, several pool tables, and even a little corner with board games and whatnot. What I did find interesting, was that as the night wore on, more and more patrons coming into the bar were gay. Lesbians and gay men took the place by storm, and I was fascinated to see a full fledged gay friendly bar this far from the city! That definitely made the night better. Also, while my friends loved our server, I have to say, she was really toeing in the line; she was almost too bitchy to find it funny anymore. Other than that, service was great. I would give this place five full stars, but any place that allows smoking always gets docked one star; that's just how it goes, ya'll.

The ORIGINAL of the two taverns, with the second opened in L5P last year, this is a true neighborhood spot with great food, wicked drinks and a spunky staff that knows how to hustle. Atmosphere Pluses - 1) their great outdoor patio, one level up with ferns, fans and gas lamps for cooler weather, 2) four pool tables, 2 dart boards, 3) local celebrity and Rock Star INXS contestant Heather Lutrell providing occasional entertainment , 4) Tuesday Night Trivia, 5) Thursday Night Poker Food! - 1) Homemade Fries - get wasabi mayo and curry ketchup for dipping, 2) Corn Chowder, 3) Grilled Hawaiian Chicken Salad, 4) Any of the burgers, 5) Daily Lunch & Dinner specials are always good Drinks - 1) bartenders know how to pour, 2) massive beer list People rarely think about hanging out in the southside, but this place shouldn't be overlooked. I've lived all over Atlanta and this is one of my favorite places to get a little tipsy.

The other night I was like...I NEED RED MEAT!!! Doug and I like to stay close to home during the weekday but there are no stake houses in our area. We were going to go to the Vortex but the line was really long so we ended up at the Tavern. I opened their menu to not only find a stake but it was also topped with blue cheese and caramelized onions. Can you say YUM? Also their sides are wonderful! Garlic mash-potatoes and feta cheese spinach. I must say I was impressed. Also, our waiter (I am not sure of his name) was on the ball and our drinks were always topped off. I give them 4 stars and a big Yahoooo!

Nice place to hang out with friends. Never had any issues with service - they've always been super nice and never take too long. Burgers are good and having the option of playing pool (I think there are around 5 tables...I've never had to wait for one) or darts is a plus. I'm definitely a fan :)

EPCT is a great neighborhood bar/restaurant. Great food and selection, good beer choices, wonderful 9 foot pool tables in good shape, usually something do do most every night - Sunday's live music is the definite highlight. Quick access from Atlanta. I highly encourage you to check this place out.

I had a great time here attempting to shoot pool (I'm no good). It was a decent local crowd but wasn't packed and there was room to spread out. Waitress was quick with all of our drink orders (there were probably 10 of us). I really, really liked the fries and the curry ketchup. A friend ordered them but I ate more than she did...oops! They were craveable. The nachos were excellent, too. The rest of the menu looks interesting with some cool twists on bar food such as an Asian tuna burger, collard greens and shrimp & corn fritters. They have a good beer selection. Their outdoor upper patio looked massive and fun, too.

I just moved to a neighborhood fairly close to East Point and went to Corner Tavern for the first time Saturday. Love it! I can definitely see this becoming one of my regular destinations for dining and drinking. Had the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich, which has grilled pineapple on it and is fantastic. Don't care for the knot roll it's served on though; it's a pretty messy sandwhich as it is, and if you cut it down the center like I did, it pretty much falls apart. Very tasty though. Staff is really friendly, atmosphere is very laid-back. But the main thing I noticed that deserves mention is the jukebox. Maybe this isn't such an uncommon thing these days (I don't go to bars all that much), but they have a digital touchscreen jukebox that can literally download most any music selection you can think of. This was the first one of these I had seen but it blew my mind! You can search for songs and even use additional credits to move your song up so it's the next to be played. Awesome!

Great neighborhood tavern! The staff is very friendly and I'm sure once I get settled down in East Point I'll be in the habit of going regularly and will probably learn all of their names. They've got pool tables, a patio, darts, and I think I even saw a chess set in the corner. As for the food... very tasty. Their fried artichoke hearts are to die for! Daily specials. Big salads. They also have a good selection of wine.

"I'm just saying stay the f*ck away from my tables!" "Dude I wouldn't have to but you're f*cking slow, you're just so f*cking slow!" So all you can eat crab legs for $20 and a highly dramatic wait staff, yep I'll be back. I've lived in East Point for two years and have driven by this place on several occasions. My friend Kathy told me about their $20 all you can eat crab leg special on Friday nights and I had to go. So one Friday Kathy and I went and met up with a couple of her buddies for crab legs and drinks. Okay so this place is very different from where I normally frequent. They have a few tables, the bar and a large area with pool tables. We sat outside, this is a smoking establishment and the smoke was pretty overwhelming for me. Outside wasn't much better, but it was a great night. Our server was okay, she was slow and we were happy that her colleague checked her on it. Overall we had a great time, you can't beat the crab leg deal. They really do bring out some good sized legs and you get as much as you like. If you want sides you'll have to shell out extra for that. I also enjoyed their drinks, I had some sort of dirt sweet tea. A really laid back, dare I say almost classy trailer trash type of crowd but we had a ball.

Good neighborhood bar. Friendly staff who are willing to point out if the beer is pouring "wonky." The food is tasty for bar food. The fries can actually be quite top-notch on a good day (I've had them come out soggy, but only once). Kitchen's open pretty late. Too bad they still allow smoking inside. Other than that, it's a pretty good place to hang.

It may just be that this place is a mile away from my house, but we eat here more than any other restaurant in Atlanta. EPCT has amazing food (their fish tacos and fry platter with chilli sauce and sour cream are to die for). My favorite menu item is their shrimp po' boy, but they took it off the menu (BRING IT BACK!). Karaoke is always a hit on Saturday night, but get there early to find a seat. Trivia Tuesday is another good time - can't go wrong with gift certificates for winning. Plus, you get service from really nice people. What's not to love?

Let me start off by saying I absolutely LOVE this place. My best friend and I go there every Saturday night for karaoke and have been for some time, but I'd never really eaten there until just recently. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Tacos and I loved them. It's heaven in a tortilla shell. Seriously. They have 5 pool tables that usually are not totally filled, even on a weekend. Chris is the best bartender EVER, and the rest of the staff is super friendly. This is THE place to come to on a weekend for a good chill-out place.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant/bar. The only thing I hate is that it's always so smoky. It's fun for Friday trivia, people-watching at Saturday karaoke, and playing darts or pool any other night. The food is awesome and the beer selection is great. My favorites are the burgers and mashed sweet potatoes.
